Villa Silvandra is located in the highlands of the Tampak Siring district in the Gianyar Regency of Bali. The villa is 20 minutes drive from Ubud, Bali's centre for fine arts, dance and music, 45 minutes from the beach and about one hour from the airport.

The local village, Pejeng Kangin is a small agricultural community of about 1,000 persons. Here traditional Balinese life continues as it has for centuries and the people are warm and welcoming.

The pristine natural beauty of the area invites you to walk and explore your surroundings. You can stroll through the villages and the ricefields meeting the local people.

This village offers total peace and relaxation, the scenery is spectacular, you can participate in traditional Balinese activities and there are numerous local attractions to visit.

Local handicrafts include wood carvings, drums and hand made furniture. The entire Ubud and Gianyar area is famous world-wide for it's arts and crafts.

Notable attractions in the Tampak Siring area include the Presidential Palace and the World Heritage listed Tirta Empul Temple. The nearby and famous town of Ubud offers restaurants, shopping, spas, teachers and healers.

Tirta Empul Temple

The temple of Pura Tirta Empul is built around the sacred spring at Tampak Siring, over 1,000 years old, the temple and its two bathing places have been used by the people for good health and prosperity because of the spring water's curative powers.

According to legend the spring was made by lndra when he pierced the earth to create a spring of amerta (the elixir of immortality) with which he revived his forces who were poisoned by Mayadanawa.
