the main villa

Villa Silvandra is a work of fine art set high above the river in the Tampak Siring district near Ubud. The villa is inspired by, and blends seamlessly with the beauty of this part of Bali.

the setting

Villa Silvandra faces due east with the sacred mountain of Gunung Agung in the near distance. The land runs from the village of Pejeng above to the edge of a lush green valley.

Set in landscaped tropical gardens amid cascading water features and overhanging a pristine highland valley Villa Silvandra is a place of peace, natural beauty and culture.

the builders

Completed in 2004 Villa Silvandra is the culmination of a long term dream, designed by a team of professionals, care and attention to detail are the notable features of the villa.

the architect
Villa Silvandra was designed by French architect Christian Malmoux, he was inspired to create the butterfly shape to take advantage of the valley edge setting. You can see his web site at www.balisunsethill.com
the landscaping
Is by Thorsten d' Heureuse, www.tropland.com who also reshaped the gardens of the Presidential Palace in Tampak Siring, the Bali Hyatt and designed the gardens of the famous Begawan Giri hotel in Payangan near Ubud.
signature features

Another feature of the property is the remarkable variety of palm and flowering trees that have been planted around the grounds to complement the landscaping.

the interior & artwork

The interior constuction is of tropical hardwoods creating a warm and comfortable atmosphere. The open wings of the butterfly design allows nature and the villa to interact.

The interior furnishings are tasteful and contemporary, all are made from natural materials such as wood, ceramics, cotton or silk and invite to stay and relax.

The main villa contains a collection of beautiful antiques and artworks from South East Asia and China that have been collected over a period of many years.

the swimming pool

The infinity edged, salt chlorinated swimming pool is the major feature of this villa. A minor engineering feat in itself the pool is set overlooking the pristine jungled valley below.
